Caspar Estate wines express the terroir of our property located in Rutherford. Positioned on the sloping hillside just above the fog line overlooking Napa Valley, Caspar Estate provides an ideal, unique environment to grow Cabernet Sauvignon.  With ideal growing conditions with a warm spring and long summer days, the 2012 vintage marks our 5th release of our Caspar Estate wines, and we cannot think of a more perfect vintage to mark this anniversary.

The 2012 Caspar Estate Cabernet Sauvignon delivers the epitome of balance with the intensity of dark fruits, soft acidity and structured tannins. In the glass the wine is dark purple almost black in color, hints of what is to come on your nose and palate. The vibrant aromas of black cherry, bramble and dark currant fruit that are intertwined with notes of cedar and tobacco leaf that lead into cola, with hints of mint and coco. The palate is expansive, showcasing dark fruit, cola and sarsaparilla with depth found only in the terroir of Caspar Estate. The sweet notes of vanilla quickly expand into a rich and plummy mouth feel finishing with firm rounded tannins and a long building finish. The profile suggests the 5th release of Caspar Estate will age extremely well for years to come.
